Australia in MS Excel

Does excel have to be boring?
I'm not saying Excel is useless, I just find it boring most of the time. An Excel document is basically a bunch of squares, where you can assign a value to each cell. Every time I work with Excel I can't help but associate it with GIS and raster datasets. Generally, Raster analyses, aerial imagery, and processed LiDAR are just squares with assigned values, similar to Excel.

This similarity gave me the idea to color-code each cell of an Excel spreadsheet to create a primitive shape of Australia.

Surely, I'm not the first to do this…right? Email me if you have a better example.
